Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical stakeholder for multiple projects and partner with development managers on the technical roadmap.
  • Identify and resolve major technical challenges that unblock product opportunities.
  • Write high-quality, well-tested code and collaborate with developers on complex technical problems.
  • Simplify coding patterns, interfaces, and abstractions to make them more approachable.
  • Review and provide constructive feedback on code across teams.
  • Mentor developers and contribute to a culture of teaching, learning, and continuous feedback.

Requirements

  • Experience in software development and building web applications at scale with Ruby on Rails.
  • Ability to quickly master new technologies and work effectively in a dynamic environment with distributed teams and customers.
  • Demonstrated success mentoring software developers, particularly in Agile processes and large-scale SaaS products.
  • Broad technical knowledge for solving complex engineering problems.
  • Portfolio of successful projects and lessons learned from unsuccessful projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build trusted relationships.
  • International or global development experience is a plus but not required.
