Base Salary
$204k - $318k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain POSIX-based middleware and embedded software from the application layer through the hardware abstraction layer.
- Develop products, features, and tools across the stack that meet performance, scalability, and safety requirements.
- Design efficient and deterministic solutions for distributed and embedded engineering challenges.
- Ship complex, mission-critical software in collaboration with infrastructure, automotive, and embedded-systems engineers.
- Work with POSIX-based platforms and middleware technologies including Linux, QNX, VxWorks, and service-oriented communication frameworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of embedded software development experience focused on POSIX-based operating systems.
- Strong experience designing scalable, modular middleware frameworks for real-time or safety-critical systems.
- Deep knowledge of IPC mechanisms, OS abstraction layers, and service-based architectures.
- Track record of building middleware for cross-domain applications such as infotainment, POSIX, and connectivity.
- Familiarity with multi-core scheduling, process isolation, and resource management on automotive-grade SoCs.
- Experience bringing up software on hardware prototypes and conducting system-level debugging and profiling.
- Hands-on experience with Adaptive AUTOSAR or equivalent middleware stacks is preferred.
- Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering using tools such as Cameo or PREEvision is preferred.
- Understanding of ISO 26262, ASIL requirements, and ISO 21434 cybersecurity best practices is preferred.
- Prior experience working with OEMs or Tier 1 software suppliers is preferred.
