Responsibilities
- Set strategic priorities for platform hardware, software, networking, and infrastructure requirements.
- Lead teams and cross-functional workstreams responsible for system performance, troubleshooting, platform operations, and production delivery.
- Optimize DevOps tools and oversee automated, orchestrated fulfillment of platform services.
- Manage cloud and on-premises infrastructure, containerized environments, platform runtimes, and infrastructure automation.
- Develop and implement security, resiliency, compliance, backup, and disaster recovery policies, standards, and procedures.
- Identify and mitigate security threats, evaluate high-level designs, conduct technical research, and present recommendations.
- Build relationships with vendors and support organizational technology and business objectives.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the country of employment without now or in the future requiring employment-visa sponsorship.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or at least 9 years of experience in a Platform Engineer or related role in lieu of a degree.
- 6+ years of experience in platform engineering and infrastructure, with strong containerization experience using Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher.
- Expertise in automated interaction with physical infrastructure and management of cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Expertise with monitoring and log management tools including Nagios, Splunk, and ELK.
- Experience developing and implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
- Expertise with infrastructure as code and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, and Terraform.
- Preferred certifications include Azure Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
- Preferred experience includes platform-level runtimes, NGINX ingress controllers, cert-manager, HashiCorp Vault, Sysdig, Fluentd, Elasticsearch, and ArgoCD.
