Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Scale and optimize planning and simulation methods that convert satellite geometry and demand into capacity and coverage plans.
- Improve computational performance and scale using decomposition, precomputation, caching, and parallelism backed by measured results.
- Build and operate large-scale data stores, columnar query systems, and batch fan-out compute infrastructure for planning workloads.
- Validate system outputs against reference implementations and protect the accuracy of business-critical results.
- Partner with network modeling and real-time operations teams to transition planning methods from demonstrations to production.
- Contribute to backend services and data pipelines for capacity, demand, pricing, inventory, and reservations.
- Build highly available, scalable AWS services and provide monitoring, alarming, and on-call operational ownership.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience collaborating effectively with science, data processing, and software engineering teams is preferred.
- Experience improving the performance and scale of computationally intensive systems or algorithms is preferred.
- Exposure to optimization, simulation, large-scale numerical processing, or geospatial data processing, or interest in developing depth in those areas, is preferred.
- Due to export control requirements, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, lawfully admitted refugee, or person granted asylum.
