Base Salary

$190k - $285k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Drive firmware design, implementation, and verification in pre-silicon and post-silicon environments.
  • Help define power-management solutions for future Qualcomm CPUs.
  • Develop embedded firmware for CPU power and performance management in Qualcomm SoCs.
  • Work on management-controller firmware features including power management, boot, RAS, debugging, security, and runtime services.
  • Develop drivers, firmware features, and processor-architecture support, including contributions to open-source communities.
  • Define interprocessor communication interfaces between embedded controllers and the platform.
  • Collaborate with hardware power-management, firmware, platform, SoC architecture, and third-party enablement teams.
  • Assist with platform bring-up, debugging, diagnostics, skills planning, and hiring engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 6+ years of software engineering or related experience; alternatively, a master's degree plus 5+ years or a PhD plus 4+ years.
  • 3+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
  • Proficiency writing and debugging C and assembly.
  • Experience developing drivers in RTOS or OS-kernel environments.
  • Experience with embedded operating systems such as Zephyr, eCos, uC/OS, or FreeRTOS.
  • Experience with pre-silicon development using simulators and FPGA emulation.
  • Experience defining interprocessor communication interfaces between embedded controllers and platforms.
  • Familiarity with ARM v8 architecture; ARMV8 platform development experience is preferred.
  • Experience with embedded firmware development and demonstrated technical leadership.
