Base Salary
$294k - $343k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead engineers on the Engine Networking Team.
- Develop and improve real-time networking and game-state communication systems.
- Optimize network exchanges for latency and efficiency at millisecond-level precision.
- Work across the game platform on networking and asset loading to support smooth player experiences.
- Analyze CPU behavior, memory usage, and operating-system-level execution.
Requirements
- 8+ years of industry experience.
- Experience with systems-level C++ programming, including smart pointers, templates, virtual functions, and memory management.
- Experience working on the core systems of a multiplayer game engine, including scale, performance, latency, and throughput in client/server environments.
- Experience with large multithreaded distributed systems connecting millions of users worldwide.
- Experience working across desktop, mobile phone, and console clients.
- Understanding of game networking and operating-system-level behavior.
- Experience with asset loading, rendering, and networking from a game engine or studio is desirable.
- Passion for working with open-source software.
