Base Salary
$128k - $209k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement vehicle-level autonomous machine systems from requirements through production.
- Lead autonomy engineers and collaborate with software, hardware, platform, and global cross-functional teams.
- Evaluate and select technology solutions, decompose solutions into delivery activities, and estimate project time and cost.
- Perform risk and benefit analysis and execute phased delivery plans spanning simulation, proof of concept, and production release.
- Triage and resolve system-level issues discovered during development, validation, or production.
- Document system designs, requirements, tradeoffs, and success criteria while influencing stakeholders through technical expertise.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an accredited engineering or computer science curriculum.
- Proven ability to work on production products through design, implementation, customer rollout, and support.
- Ability to decompose complex customer requirements into achievable technical requirements for constituent systems.
- Knowledge and experience with autonomous systems, preferably a Caterpillar Command system such as Command for Hauling or Command for Dozing.
- Strong working knowledge of the Caterpillar Command ecosystem or comparable centralized control system architectures.
- Strong communication, documentation, stakeholder alignment, data-driven decision-making, and technical influence skills.
