Responsibilities
- Build and customize Shopify theme sections, templates, settings, and features in Liquid.
- Develop configurable, responsive, cross-browser-compatible, and accessible Shopify experiences.
- Implement maintainable, component-based JavaScript and grow from development tickets into larger features.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Shopify apps.
- Use Git and pull request workflows, including reviewing and responding to code reviews.
- Work with QA to test and safely ship changes.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive development work using AI tools.
Requirements
- Have 3+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience at an agency or Shopify-based brand.
- Provide a portfolio of Shopify work.
- Understand Shopify themes, sections, templates, theme settings, and the Shopify admin.
- Have working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Liquid, JavaScript, TypeScript, and lightweight client-side frameworks such as Stimulus or Alpine.js.
- Understand responsive, mobile-first development and accessibility best practices, including WCAG 2.1 AA.
- Be comfortable with Git and pull requests.
- Have experience using AI tools in the development workflow.
- Write organized, reusable, readable, and extensible code.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ownership.
- Preferred qualifications include Shopify Plus, Shopify CLI, Theme Check, Shopify Admin API GraphQL, CI/CD such as GitHub Actions, Vite or webpack, Lighthouse, and Core Web Vitals.
