Responsibilities
- Lead development of internal applications, integrations, and automations from prototyping through testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Build scalable applications, APIs, scripts, and automated workflows using Python, TypeScript, C#, SQL, and cloud-based platforms.
- Develop secure and reliable integrations between Menzies platforms and third-party applications using APIs, web services, databases, and automation tools.
- Partner with business teams to understand challenges, identify improvement opportunities, and deliver practical technology solutions.
- Build data- and AI-enabled tools using Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.
- Apply software engineering practices including Git/GitHub, code reviews, testing, monitoring, CI/CD, and technical documentation.
- Enhance existing applications, automations, and integrations to improve reliability, reduce manual effort, and improve user experience.
- Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure applications use data effectively and complement the wider data platform.
- Build security, GDPR compliance, authentication, access management, and data protection into solutions.
- Share expertise, mentor colleagues, and contribute to Innovation Team practices and continuous improvement.
- Travel occasionally to other Menzies offices for workshops, discovery sessions, project delivery, and team collaboration.
Requirements
- A degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Around 3–5 years of experience in software development, integration engineering, automation engineering, or a similar technical role.
- Strong programming skills in Python and TypeScript, with experience using SQL and cloud-based development.
- Experience with internal applications, automations, or integrations supporting business operations.
- Understanding of APIs, authentication, web services, data formats, and relational databases.
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub, testing, code reviews, documentation, and deployment.
- Experience with integration platforms, automation tools, low-code solutions, and cloud technologies.
- Understanding of GDPR, cybersecurity, secure development, access management, and data protection.
- Proven experience delivering software, applications, or automation solutions used by business teams in live environments.
- Experience with C#, Java, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, or Terraform is advantageous.
- Microsoft, Google Cloud, software development, integration, or automation certifications are beneficial but not required.
- Professional services, finance, accounting, legal, tax, or audit experience is advantageous but not required.
- Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
