Responsibilities
- Architect and operate high-performance, fault-tolerant backend microservices for global travel and expense transactions.
- Design and build micro frontends and clean user interfaces.
- Lead complex, cross-functional engineering initiatives from conception through production deployment.
- Develop robust APIs, asynchronous event-driven architectures, and scalable data pipelines.
- Partner with product, engineering leadership, data, and platform teams on enterprise-grade solutions.
- Drive architecture reviews, mentor engineers, and promote maintainable code, rigorous testing, and operational ownership.
- Optimize performance, availability, observability, and reliability for critical Tier 1 services.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience building and operating highly scalable distributed production systems at enterprise or global scale.
- Deep expertise in backend technologies such as Java, TypeScript/Node.js, Python, Go, or another VM-based language.
- Exposure to frontend technologies such as React or Angular.
- Extensive experience with microservices, complex APIs, event-driven workflows, distributed systems, and databases.
- Demonstrated ability to drive technical vision and lead architecture for large, multi-team projects through production rollout.
- Experience with observability, SLOs/SLIs, production debugging, and reliability of critical services.
- Product mindset with the ability to balance near-term delivery with long-term technical scalability.
- Experience with travel platforms, fintech, payment processing, or complex financial ledgers is preferred.
