Base Salary
$115k - $173k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend features for GitLab’s vulnerability management workflows.
- Build and improve security data ingestion, reporting, dashboards, and vulnerability-management systems for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Ship features with minimal guidance, collaborate on larger projects, and contribute across the stack when needed.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, product designers, and related security teams.
- Write maintainable, high-quality code, conduct code reviews, respond to community contributions, and address technical debt.
- Participate in on-call rotations to troubleshoot product operations, security operations, and urgent engineering issues.
Requirements
- Experience building and maintaining backend applications with Ruby on Rails.
- Experience delivering and maintaining software systems as part of a larger engineering team.
- Ability to investigate technical problems, seek context when needed, and work toward practical resolutions.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Clear communication and collaboration skills in a distributed team.
- Frontend development experience with JavaScript or Vue.js is helpful.
- Experience with Elasticsearch, graph databases, vulnerability management, application security, or related transferable skills is helpful.
