Base Salary

$175k - $225k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop the proprietary high-performance fixed-income electronic trading platform across credit and rates products.
  • Build real-time trading applications that electronically execute orders across multiple electronic communication networks.
  • Support and enhance existing infrastructure and applications using technologies including ION, Java, and KDB/Q.
  • Design for high availability, scalability, and framework reusability across fixed-income front-office teams.
  • Collaborate with traders and quantitative analysts to specify trading applications and communicate effectively with the trading desk.
  • Apply strong software development lifecycle practices, including test-driven coding, testing, and debugging.
  • Balance client delivery timelines with governance, compliance, and audit requirements.
  • Mentor junior developers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of financial services experience.
  • At least 10 years of Java programming experience.
  • Strong experience with front-office electronic trading systems.
  • Strong design, coding, testing, debugging, and multithreaded programming skills.
  • General knowledge of fixed-income pricing and analytics.
  • Knowledge of credit buy-side and sell-side market structure.
  • Python experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the FIX protocol is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ION or Broadway API is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of KDB/Q is a plus.
