Base Salary

$165k - $265k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering teams to identify repetitive, time-consuming, or error-prone work and build automation tools.
  • Process telemetry, hardware design databases, configuration files, manufacturing records, and test data to automate review, detect anomalies, and surface insights.
  • Design agentic AI systems, multi-agent workflows, and MCP servers that interact with internal systems and engineering data.
  • Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines, mission workflows, and review and sign-off processes.
  • Build internal web dashboards for mission status, open work, and data review results.
  • Prototype, productionize, test, validate, maintain, and measure the impact of engineering tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, mathematics, or physics, or 4+ years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience focused on automation tools and/or AI integrations.
  • At least 5 years of programming experience in Python.
  • Experience building tools adopted by engineers or other end users and gathering and incorporating user feedback.
  • Experience processing large engineering or scientific datasets using tools such as pandas and NumPy.
  • Experience with agentic AI systems, multi-agent workflows, prompt and context engineering, tool or function calling, MCP servers, agent skills, and LLM evaluations.
  • Experience integrating systems through REST APIs and working with relational, non-relational, and vector databases, including strong SQL skills.
  • Full-stack web application or dashboard experience, including React/TypeScript frontends and Python backends such as FastAPI or Flask.
  • Proficiency with Linux, Git, testing, CI/CD, and monitoring, plus familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with hardware engineering concepts or experience transitioning from hardware or test engineering into software.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to engineers in other disciplines.
  • Ability to own ambiguous problems from initial concept through long-term maintenance.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Benefits

  • Base salary range is $165,000.00-$265,000.00 for Level 3, with eligibility for stock or long-term cash incentives, discretionary bonuses, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Benefits include medical, vision, dental, 401(k), disability and life insurance, paid parental leave, discounts, approximately three weeks of paid vacation, paid holidays, and paid sick leave.
  • The role is subject to ITAR eligibility requirements and may require extended hours and weekend work.
