Responsibilities
- Lead the design and ongoing architecture of a secure, scalable, resilient enterprise platform.
- Define and govern platform-wide standards for CI/CD, monitoring, testing, automation, and infrastructure across multi-cloud and on-premises environments.
- Implement practical platform controls aligned with FISMA, FedRAMP, and federal security requirements.
- Champion observability, reliability engineering, and proactive incident response across hosted services.
- Partner with application and data teams to align platform capabilities with delivery needs.
- Evaluate tooling and infrastructure improvements that improve security, operational efficiency, and developer productivity.
- Mentor platform engineers and promote quality, automation, and shared ownership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience leading DevSecOps initiatives, architecture, automation, monitoring, testing, and CI/CD pipelines for large-scale multi-cloud and on-premises platforms.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification at the Associate or Professional level.
- Proven ability to design scalable, secure, and resilient platforms using Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, Docker, and Terraform.
- Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines with Harness and GitHub Enterprise, including Gradle, Maven, and Nexus.
- Proficiency with platform security tooling including Checkmarx, SonarQube, Prisma Cloud/Twistlock, NexusIQ, Tenable, Vault, PKI, and Akamai CDN/WAF.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, EKS, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, KMS, S3, and Lambda.
- Experience establishing observability and incident management practices with New Relic, Splunk, Splunk On-Call, and AWS CloudWatch.
- Experience with Gatling, JMeter, Playwright, Selenium, and Testcontainers for platform-level testing.
- Knowledge of FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53 and experience implementing compliant platform controls.
- Familiarity with Backstage, Cloudability, Confluent Kafka, and Elasticsearch.
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Mural.
- US citizenship, eligibility to obtain a Public Trust, and local presence in the DMV area are required.
