Responsibilities
- Partner with internal non-engineering teams to understand ambiguous problems and refine them through conversation and rapid prototyping.
- Build and iterate on AI-powered skills, workflows, and agents for real users.
- Choose appropriate tools and deployment approaches while weighing cost, speed, latency, security, and maintainability tradeoffs.
- Connect front-end tools to underlying infrastructure across front-end, backend/API, and data layers.
- Debug failures in production and support workflows after launch until outcomes are measurable.
- Share reusable patterns and lessons learned across the Forward Deployed Engineering pod.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to write correct, working code independently.
- Working knowledge of prompting, context engineering, MCP tool/function calling, and modern AI/LLM tooling such as Claude.
- A non-trivial working GenAI output and a shipped end-to-end software project from a personal, academic, or internship experience.
- Ability to break down ambiguous, unscoped problems and independently drive solutions without a detailed specification.
- Basic understanding of cost, latency, security, and system design tradeoffs.
- Full-stack literacy across front-end, backend/API, and data layers.
- Experience debugging a real failure in a running system and building or deploying agentic workflows or tool-using agents.
- Preferred: experience maintaining a live system, exposure to multiple languages or stacks, and early product sense.
