Responsibilities
- Map ESI standard texts to OEM texts and specify requirements for automotive diagnostic tester software.
- Create diagnostic content across vehicle systems including engine management, electric and hybrid systems, brake control, infotainment, ADAS, transmission, HVAC, and airbags.
- Analyze vehicle communication bus logs, simulate automotive systems, and create workflows or test sequences using Bosch standard tools.
- Evaluate OEM diagnostic data, implement useful findings in target testers, and validate diagnostic content on vehicles.
- Benchmark and reverse-engineer aftermarket diagnostic testers, evaluate coverage across vehicle brands and systems, and produce test reports.
- Review deliverables, provide recommendations, collaborate with global software engineering and technical teams, and travel to workshops or OEM dealerships as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering.
- One to eight years of relevant experience, with candidates needing at least four years to qualify for the stated joining bonus.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, subsystems, and components, with proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and make vehicles roadworthy.
- Ability to understand OEM system descriptions, service and repair manuals, and automotive wiring diagrams.
- Experience handling diagnostic testers such as VIDA, Xentry, GDS, ADT, SDT-II, DiagBox, HDS, Launch, Autel, G-Scan, and Zenith.
- Knowledge of Bosch Aftermarket Diagnostic Tool ESI [tronic] and automotive protocols including CAN, CAN FD, DoIP, UDS, and J1939.
- Experience with Vector or Samtec analyzer and simulation tools such as HSX and HS+.
- Automotive Mechatronics Certification is a preferred qualification.
