Base Salary
$163k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop product and industry expertise to shape team strategy and organizational direction.
- Lead end-to-end technical execution of complex mobile features and systems, including architecture, deployment, and refinement.
- Define and enforce engineering principles, guidelines, best practices, and design patterns.
- Drive Android platform and mobile ecosystem decisions for Fanatics applications using Kotlin Multiplatform.
- Partner with product, design, iOS, Android, and other stakeholders on scalable technical solutions.
- Share code, features, and best practices across multiple native and cross-platform applications.
- Lead incident resolution as part of the on-call rotation.
- Conduct code reviews, improve software quality and testability, and enhance operational metrics and documentation.
- Remove cross-team roadblocks and facilitate planning and design discussions.
- Mentor and coach engineers at all levels.
- Travel occasionally to Fanatics offices, conferences, events, meetings, and team-building activities.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building scalable, performant Android applications.
- Expertise in Kotlin Multiplatform, Compose Multiplatform, and other Android technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to drive consensus and mentor engineers on coding and architecture.
- Systems-level knowledge of Backend Client API, Platform Engineering, and client-supporting marketing and analytics systems.
- Knowledge of observability practices including logging, monitoring, and tracing in native applications.
- Strong communication skills for working with engineers, executives, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience sharing code across multiple native and cross-platform applications using Kotlin Multiplatform, Compose Multiplatform, native libraries, or similar technologies is preferred.
- Experience with webviews and integrating coherent experiences across multiple technologies is preferred.
- Sports, ecommerce, or gaming industry experience is preferred.
- Ability to work across legacy and greenfield codebases in different languages and environments is preferred.
