Responsibilities
- Write Gauge specifications from user stories and acceptance criteria using reusable, parameterized steps.
- Implement and maintain step implementations, Page Objects, and Selenium locators.
- Design and maintain YAML test data and configuration files and keep GitLab CI pipelines operational.
- Run test campaigns across development, staging, and pre-production environments using Gauge environment profiles.
- Perform manual and exploratory testing outside the automation suite.
- Analyze execution reports, classify failures, and raise clear, reproducible defect tickets.
- Stabilize flaky tests through explicit waits, synchronization, and test-data isolation.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and review test code.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of manual or automated testing experience.
- Practical Gauge knowledge, including specifications, parameterized steps, tags, and environment profiles; equivalent BDD experience with Cucumber, SpecFlow, or Behave is accepted with willingness to learn Gauge.
- Selenium WebDriver experience with element-location strategies, explicit waits, and the Page Object pattern.
- Knowledge of HTML, the DOM, basic CSS, HTTP methods and status codes, and browser developer tools.
- Working-level programming ability in Java, JavaScript, Python, C#, or the language used by the test suite.
- GitLab knowledge including branches, merge requests, conflict resolution, and GitLab CI pipelines configured in YAML.
- Understanding of test design, including positive and negative cases, boundary values, error handling, and regression strategy.
- Experience with Jira, Xray, TestRail, or an equivalent defect-management tool in an agile delivery context.
- Fluent written and spoken English is mandatory and assessed during recruitment.
- ISTQB Foundation certification, API testing with Postman or REST Assured, Docker, Selenium Grid, SQL, performance testing, or accessibility testing are beneficial.
