Lead, Database Infrastructure Security Engineer

Responsibilities
- Create, code, and support automation for the creation, management, and destruction of infrastructure and related security components.
- Provide database infrastructure monitoring services to software development teams and help implement those solutions.
- Maintain product security throughout the product lifecycle by integrating security features and updates.
- Automate unit and integration tests, troubleshoot issues, and deliver additional automation capabilities.
- Develop corporate platform standards based on cost, capability, and capacity requirements and document solutions for adoption.
- Support database activity monitoring, SOX compliance, threat analytics, SNOW and Splunk integration, configuration compliance, vulnerability management, and CIS benchmarking.
- Support privileged access and entitlement reporting, infrastructure health checks, patching, maintenance, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Apply infrastructure fundamentals across cloud, operating systems, databases, networks, and communication protocols.
- Mentor team members and collaborate with product owners, technical leads, designers, engineers, and delivery professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or experience in related fields.
- Ability to mentor others, collaborate effectively, solve complex problems, communicate clearly, and leverage diverse perspectives.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and Test-Driven Development.
- Advanced experience with applied security, distributed systems, operating systems, databases, and cloud or on-premises environments.
- Experience with IBM Guardium or Imperva DAM and vulnerability assessment; certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of database management systems including MSSQL, Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, Redshift, Couchbase, MongoDB, Hadoop, Aurora PostgreSQL, Amazon DynamoDB, DocumentDB, RDS, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Snowflake, and Capella.
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud environments, hardware, virtual machines, networking, protocols, risk management, auditing, and compliance.
- Programming experience with Python, Shell or PowerShell, SQL, and modern programming languages.
- Experience with Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, APIs, quality automation, cloud security, DevSecOps, and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of Linux and Unix administration, database fundamentals, networking and TCP/IP, application security, software development lifecycle practices, cloud computing, disaster recovery, and high availability.
