Responsibilities
- Own technical direction, architecture, and roadmaps for major platforms, products, or cross-team domains.
- Design scalable, highly available distributed systems, services, and data contracts.
- Lead architecture evolution, decomposition, interface harmonization, platform adoption, and migration planning across multiple teams.
- Write code, review designs, prototype solutions, and resolve difficult technical issues in critical systems.
- Improve observability, graceful degradation, incident learning, recovery practices, and service ownership.
- Partner with Product and business stakeholders to prioritize technical investments and improve customer outcomes and delivery speed.
- Design and deliver AI- and GenAI-enabled capabilities, including agent-callable interfaces, workflow automation, and intelligent decision support.
- Use AI tools to improve productivity, development quality, test coverage, documentation, and operational response.
- Influence engineers and leaders without direct authority and mentor senior engineers toward broader technical scope.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience with strong expertise in distributed systems, APIs, and service-oriented architecture.
- Experience leading the design and delivery of complex systems across multiple teams and driving architecture decisions to adoption.
- Experience operating highly available, production-critical systems at meaningful scale, with strong performance, reliability, and cost judgment.
- Ability to influence across organizational boundaries and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders without direct authority.
- Hands-on engineering experience writing code, reviewing designs, prototyping solutions, and using production data to guide decisions.
- AI fluency and experience using AI tools or GenAI techniques to improve engineering productivity, product capabilities, or operational workflows.
- Preferred experience with FMS, CRM, commerce, payments, subscription systems, agentic systems, AI/GenAI application patterns, evaluation frameworks, resiliency engineering, simulation, forecasting, experimentation, ML-driven recommendations, international expansion, payments, compliance, or market-specific product adaptation.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States and able to work a hybrid schedule in Bellevue, Washington.
