Responsibilities
- Build and launch end-to-end product features across client and server, from product definition through rollout.
- Develop reusable software components and APIs for backend platforms, payments, and third-party service integrations.
- Solve complex technical problems across multiple layers, languages, and technologies.
- Set technical direction across multiple teams and own architecture for a major product area.
- Lead organization-wide initiatives and resolve ambiguity in product definition and technical approach.
- Drive engineering standards, quality, and operational effectiveness across the pillar.
- Mentor senior engineers and influence product, design, data science, operations, legal, compliance, and payments partners.
- Partner with local operations and compliance stakeholders to ship reliable, correct, and regulation-compliant services in India.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 12+ years of programming experience in a relevant language, or 8+ years of experience with a PhD.
- Experience driving large cross-functional or industry-wide engineering efforts and planning multi-year roadmaps.
- Experience communicating across functions, using data to explain technical problems, and providing detailed solutions.
- Experience mentoring and influencing executive stakeholders across organizations.
- Preferred experience includes large-scale applications, API integrations, architectural patterns, payment systems, UPI, India's digital payments ecosystem, messaging or mobile-first consumer products, and distributed technical leadership.
- Preferred experience includes establishing technical foundations for a zero-to-one organization, setting strategy for global products, and working in monetization, payments, commerce, or AI/ML.
- Preferred qualifications include responsible AI implementation, AI workflow optimization, prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration, and continued development of AI skills.
