Base Salary
$218k - $257k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own design and architecture across the FCM core, spanning market data, order routing, settlement, reporting, and risk.
- Drive next-generation replatforming and reduce legacy vendor dependencies while improving stability and reliability.
- Set technical standards through hands-on code, design reviews, and targeted technical debt reduction.
- Partner with engineering pods, Product, CFM Risk and Ops, Finance, and Compliance to deliver correct, auditable systems and translate strategy into a roadmap.
- Mentor engineers, raise engineering quality, and help team members grow.
- Deliver end-to-end from scoping and architecture through implementation, monitoring, and iteration.
- Use generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
Requirements
- Extensive backend engineering experience and ownership of complex, production-grade distributed systems.
- Direct FCM or derivatives experience with hands-on ownership of part of the futures trade lifecycle, such as settlement, clearing, margin or risk, order entry or routing, market data, or back-office books and records.
- Deep proficiency in a modern backend language, with Go preferred and Java or similar accepted.
- Experience with event-driven, high-availability architectures; familiarity with Ion XTP is a plus.
- Experience in a regulated or financial environment, such as CFTC/NFA-regulated operations, where correctness, auditability, and reliability are critical.
- Track record of hands-on end-to-end delivery, including replatforming or migration away from legacy systems and raising engineering quality standards.
