Responsibilities
- Lead the design, training, fine-tuning, and evaluation of foundational models and LLMs for design-specific visual content tasks.
- Architect and develop production-ready Generative AI tools, APIs, platforms, and services from the ground up.
- Define and drive the long-term technical roadmap for Generative AI adoption across visual content production.
- Build and optimize end-to-end machine learning training and inference pipelines using cloud-based ML platforms.
- Lead research and experimentation involving diffusion models, multimodal models, and LoRA/PEFT fine-tuning.
- Establish standards for prompt engineering, model evaluation, data curation, and generated-content quality benchmarking.
- Partner with applied scientists, ML engineers, product managers, and creative leaders to align AI capabilities with business goals.
- Mentor junior design technologists and provide technical leadership across teams.
Requirements
- Experience with machine learning and LLM fundamentals, including model architecture, training and inference lifecycles, and execution optimization, or experience building complex software systems delivered to customers.
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, or equivalent machine learning and LLM expertise.
- Experience building production software applications and understanding software development, distributed systems, and systems architecture.
- Experience training and deploying machine learning systems at scale, or experience with relational analytic databases and data infrastructure such as ElasticSearch, EMR, EC2, Glue, and Lambda.
- Six or more years of front-end technologist, engineer, or UX prototyper experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience with AI inference and training platforms such as Fal AI, Replicate, Hugging Face, or AWS SageMaker.
- An online portfolio demonstrating strong visual design skills, advertising experience across media and platforms, and a documented design process.
- Preferred experience with AWS database services including ElasticSearch, Redshift, and DynamoDB.
- Preferred knowledge of JavaScript/NodeJS, HTML/CSS, and responsive/adaptive design.
- Preferred experience architecting or operating AWS solutions, using managed ML/AI solutions, and working across organizational teams.
- Preferred experience mentoring, leading, or managing junior engineers or serving as a mentor or technical lead.
- A master’s degree, or a PhD with 6+ years of experience building machine learning models for business applications, is preferred.
