Base Salary
$167k - $226k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain machine-checked proofs of correctness for cryptographic implementations in AWS-LC.
- Specify and verify the functional behavior of low-level Rust, C, and assembly code using automatic and interactive provers.
- Apply formal methods, program analysis, and rigorous testing to improve assurance of a security-critical codebase.
- Implement and optimize cryptographic algorithms, including post-quantum algorithms for production use.
- Mentor individuals and the broader community on advanced technical issues.
- Publish patents and peer-reviewed articles and present research internally and externally.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent research experience is required.
- Experience with mathematical logic, formal verification, satisfiability solving such as SAT/SMT, mechanical theorem proving, model checking, or program analysis is required.
- Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience with automatic or interactive verification tools such as HOL Light, CBMC, Verus, or Lean.
- Preferred qualifications include experience specifying or verifying low-level software, familiarity with cryptographic primitives and implementations, and low-level programming experience in Rust, C, or assembly.
- Familiarity with post-quantum cryptography, including lattice-based, code-based, or hash-based schemes, is preferred.
