Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve one or more mature Rustici software products and their ancillary tools.
- Write technical specifications for larger features and work items.
- Take new features from start to finish through implementation, code review, and QA.
- Identify product improvements and new work based on customer feedback and engineering judgment.
- Develop automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests as part of normal development.
- Participate in weekly team standups and deeper technical discussions.
- Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge and experience.
- Collaborate across teams, including support, product, and operations.
Requirements
- Strong web application development experience using Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar technologies.
- Experience with front-end single-page application development using Vue, React, or a similar contemporary framework.
- Direct experience with HTML and CSS.
- Experience implementing automated unit, integration, end-to-end, or similar tests.
- Familiarity with contemporary software development lifecycle processes, including version control, quality assurance, release management, task estimation, and agile principles.
- Experience writing technical or functional specifications.
- Experience mentoring other engineers.
- Experience collaborating across teams, including support, product, and operations.
- Experience with a Unix command-line toolset is preferred.
- Experience deploying web applications, particularly in AWS, is beneficial.
