Base Salary
$168k - $262k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead technical strategy and execution across complex customer AI engagements.
- Architect and build production AI systems, including multi-agent orchestration, enterprise retrieval systems, and decision intelligence platforms.
- Make architecture decisions spanning multiple services and organizational boundaries.
- Define operational standards, evaluation frameworks, testing strategies, observability standards, incident response playbooks, and production-readiness criteria.
- Create reusable architectures, engineering patterns, accelerators, and platforms that improve delivery across the FDE practice.
- Mentor junior FDEs, coach engineers on system design and customer engagement, and contribute to interviewing and hiring.
- Identify opportunities to expand AI adoption across customer organizations and feed learnings back into AWS services and the FDE practice.
- Travel 30–50%.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
- Experience communicating technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
- Experience leading agentic and spec-driven development at production scale; experience developing AI agents is a plus.
- Experience with AI tools, evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, and prompt engineering.
- Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, enterprise-scale AI/ML application experience, complex customer production system delivery, AWS services experience, and experience with React, TypeScript, Python, and/or Go.
- Preferred qualifications also include customer-facing technical project leadership or external stakeholder management and 3+ years in an Agile, startup, or rapidly scaling environment.
