Responsibilities
- Design and implement highly scalable infrastructure for GitLab.com.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and deliver projects.
- Operate and improve edge services and Kubernetes workloads.
- Participate in a global on-call rotation and respond to production incidents.
- Automate operational tasks to reduce toil and improve reliability.
- Apply infrastructure as code and configuration management practices.
- Write and maintain production-quality code to enhance systems.
Requirements
- Experience with the Kubernetes ecosystem and production workloads.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure on platforms like GCP or AWS.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools like Ansible or Chef.
- Strong programming skills in Go or Ruby for automation tasks.
- Ability to define problems and design long-term solutions.
- Focus on reducing toil through automation and system design.
- Proactive working style in a distributed environment.
- Clear communication skills and openness to transferable experience.
