Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and assure solution architectures against enterprise IT standards, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs covering applications, infrastructure, data, integration, and information security.
- Provide technical recommendations and resolve architectural challenges while balancing value, feasibility, risk, and cost.
- Review detailed designs and maintain alignment with architecture principles throughout implementation.
- Create and maintain architecture artefacts using approved modelling tools and repositories.
- Apply architecture governance, security, compliance, exception-management, and design-assurance processes.
- Identify opportunities to introduce technologies, optimise IT systems, and improve business performance.
- Monitor technology developments and translate relevant innovations into architectural recommendations.
- Engage senior business and IT stakeholders, project teams, suppliers, architects, and external stakeholders.
- Coach developers, designers, and other IT professionals on architecture standards and best practices.
- Guide a small team when required and influence cross-functional teams as an individual contributor.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Technical Architecture, Solution Architecture, or a closely related IT Architecture role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience designing, reviewing, and assuring IT solutions in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, technical standards, reference architectures, governance, and design assurance.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions and recommendations.
- Understanding of roadmaps and architectural domains including Cloud, Integration, Mobile, Open Source, and Big Data.
- Experience with architecture documentation, modelling tools, and repositories.
- Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, including engagement with senior business and IT leadership.
- Ability to work independently, make technical decisions within established guidelines, and influence cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Proactive approach to innovation, technology optimisation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Preferred: experience in a large, complex, or international organisation.
- Preferred: knowledge of TOGAF or ArchiMate and experience supporting architecture review boards and reusable reference architecture artefacts.
- Preferred: experience with IBM System Architect, PowerDesigner, ProVision, or comparable enterprise architecture platforms.
