Responsibilities
- Build and maintain production-grade test infrastructure, release orchestration tooling, and performance testing systems.
- Design and build test automation frameworks, including migration from Cypress to Playwright.
- Own test environment provisioning, parallelization, and CI/CD test execution at scale.
- Define automation strategies across unit, integration, API, and end-to-end testing layers.
- Maintain systems for build promotion, deployment gating, and rollback across environments.
- Add observability to test frameworks to track flakiness, execution time, and failure patterns.
- Develop AI-assisted testing tooling and solve complex infrastructure problems from design through deployment.
- Mentor engineers on testing, tooling, and infrastructure code.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer building test infrastructure, developer tooling, or release engineering systems.
- Strong programming ability in JavaScript and TypeScript, including building backend services and test infrastructure tooling.
- Experience building or scaling CI/CD systems, release orchestration pipelines, or test infrastructure at a systems level.
- Experience selecting automation approaches across the testing pyramid.
- Experience adding observability or monitoring to test frameworks and analyzing flakiness, execution trends, and failure signals.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools for test generation or flaky-test triage.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and work independently in fast-moving engineering environments.
