Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript.
- Provide technical leadership on mobile architecture, application structure, reusable components, integration patterns, and engineering standards.
- Assess requirements, identify technical risks, and propose solutions balancing user value, delivery speed, security, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with backend developers on REST API contracts, authentication, error handling, performance, and end-to-end troubleshooting.
- Work with Web Components to support consistent and reusable user-interface patterns across mobile and web channels.
- Build and improve GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, quality validation, and deployment.
- Support iOS and Android release management, including development and build activities in a macOS environment.
- Advise colleagues and the Domain IT Lead while collaborating with stakeholders, analysts, designers, backend developers, testers, and platform engineers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in mobile application development, including substantial hands-on React Native experience.
- Strong knowledge of React Native, JavaScript, and TypeScript, including component design, state management, navigation, performance optimization, and native integrations.
- Practical experience with iOS and Android development lifecycles and confidence working in a macOS development environment.
- Experience with Web Components and modern frontend architecture.
- Strong experience integrating REST APIs and sufficient backend understanding to discuss API, security, data, and performance challenges.
- Experience with automated testing, code quality practices, debugging, monitoring, and secure software development.
- A bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Good spoken and written English, plus good French or Dutch.
- Preferred: experience with Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, or Java; Apple App Store and Google Play publishing; accessibility, mobile analytics, secure storage, push notifications, deep linking, offline-first design; and Microsoft Azure.
