Base Salary
$130k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and test on-device software controlling recording, sensors, storage, and power during long sessions.
- Bring up and debug new hardware with electrical engineers, including part selection, interface definition, sensor-driver development, and board bring-up.
- Prototype and measure solutions to difficult device-level technical problems and help determine product direction.
- Own the device API, SDK, and protocols used by application and cloud teams.
- Build firmware-development, testing, calibration, and automation tooling to support rapid iteration and production scale.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience shipping embedded software on real hardware used by real users.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
- Experience with embedded Linux, including device drivers, device tree, and the boot process, and/or bare-metal or RTOS firmware.
- Ability to read datasheets, bring up boards, develop drivers for sensor modules, and evaluate hardware tradeoffs.
- Comfort using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and firmware build and debug tools.
- Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science, or equivalent experience.
- Thorough testing, measurement, reliability-focused engineering, and demonstrated passion for learning and building are expected.
- Preferred experience includes camera interfaces, DSP/ISP, video or media pipelines, MCU firmware, bootloaders, Zephyr or FreeRTOS, BLE, Wi-Fi, USB, SDK/API design, OTA, telemetry, connected-device fleet management, CI/CD, test automation, and wearable or consumer hardware.
