Responsibilities
- Conduct R&D on novel AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and techniques for space and missile defense.
- Lead the design, development, and testing of scalable AI/ML software prototypes using large-scale datasets.
- Validate and deploy AI/ML models and translate customer mission requirements into technical solutions.
- Interface with customers and stakeholders, present technical solutions, and maintain project alignment.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers while fostering technical excellence and collaboration.
- Track project milestones and budgets to support timely, high-quality outcomes.
- Support proposal writing, thought leadership, and ongoing professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, statistics, applied mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in AI/ML model validation and deployment.
- Proficiency in algorithm development and implementation using Python or similar programming languages.
- Strong mathematical background and knowledge of AI, ML, and deep learning concepts.
- Experience interfacing with customers and stakeholders in technical environments.
- Proficiency with revision control systems such as Git, including branching, merging, and repository management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, including on remote or hybrid project teams.
- Eligibility to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree or PhD, experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, OpenCV, NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, AWS, or Azure, and familiarity with space domain awareness, satellite operations, or space operations.
- Ability to travel up to 10% within the United States.
