Responsibilities
- Build and own Dashboard infrastructure, including the application shell, navigation, layout patterns, shared components, and product surfaces.
- Design and implement full-stack experiences across frontend, backend APIs, data models, permissions, service integrations, and deployment paths.
- Modernize the Dashboard into a fast, polished, cohesive control plane for developers and technical teams.
- Build AI-native and agent-facing experiences for configuration, error understanding, debugging, best-practice guidance, and platform operations.
- Work across Nylas product areas including Email, Calendar, Scheduler, Notetaker, Inbound Email, Transactional Send, Domains, Logs, and Agent Accounts.
- Partner with backend and platform teams to design clean APIs and service boundaries.
- Profile, measure, and optimize Dashboard interactions for performance and responsiveness.
- Create reusable abstractions and shared patterns for other engineering teams.
- Improve onboarding, activation, self-service configuration, troubleshooting, and product discovery.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate implementation, improve quality, and explore product behavior.
- Ship incrementally and continuously using customer feedback, product judgment, and technical judgment.
- Collaborate with Design, Product, Customer Success, Solutions Engineering, and Developer Relations to translate feedback into improvements.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience as a software engineer building user-facing products.
- Strong full-stack experience, particularly with React, TypeScript, and component-driven frontend architecture.
- Experience building backend APIs, services, data models, and production integrations.
- Product mindset focused on usability, information architecture, developer experience, performance, and software quality.
- Experience building products for developers, technical users, internal platforms, or complex B2B SaaS workflows.
- Ability to create reusable abstractions, composable components, shared patterns, and clean APIs.
- Ability to work through ambiguous product areas, clarify goals, make pragmatic tradeoffs, and ship software.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across product, design, engineering, platform, and customer-facing teams.
- Experience using AI tools in the development workflow and opinions on improving engineering productivity and product experiences.
- Preferred experience with dashboards, developer portals, control planes, admin surfaces, platform products, observability, logging, debugging, billing, authentication, authorization, configuration surfaces, agent-powered products, AI-assisted workflows, LLM-powered developer tools, Figma, v0, or open source contributions.
