Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end web application development, including architecture, design, planning, implementation, deployment, and support.
- Gather and prioritize business requirements, define project scope, and translate business logic into robust, reusable software.
- Design and develop scalable, responsive, high-performance web applications and services.
- Write unit and integration tests and apply software and security best practices to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Provide system design recommendations and technical advice based on project requirements.
- Manage project execution and workflow while coordinating with consulting teams, stakeholders, and case teams.
- Lead communication, establish credibility with demanding stakeholders, and guide teams in selecting development approaches.
- Own all or part of engagements and deliver analysis, insights, demos, proposals, and proof-of-concepts.
- Serve as a web development subject matter expert and brand ambassador across BCG.
- Coach software engineers, assist with onboarding, and contribute to team content, intellectual property, best practices, and methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science engineering or technology, or equivalent.
- At least 5–9 years of end-to-end web application or tool development experience in a commercial services or consulting organization.
- Strong experience building high-performance web applications with Node.js, Python, Flask, Django, React, Angular, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Experience with SQL and PostgreSQL, Unix command-line tools, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud architecture across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps tools, microservices, object-oriented programming, design patterns, responsive UI, unit testing, and REST API integration.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Mocha, Jest, or Jasmine and UI libraries such as Bootstrap, Material UI, or Ant Design.
- Working knowledge of TypeScript, MongoDB, React Native or Ionic, asynchronous programming, Highcharts, D3.js, Recharts, UI component libraries, and basic wireframing.
- Familiarity with C#, .NET Core, or .NET Framework.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, problem-solving, follow-up, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Additional consideration is given for open-source contributions, blogs, forums, or other relevant community contributions.
