Responsibilities
- Define and guide the architectural vision for complex autonomous software platforms.
- Establish scalable, resilient, and maintainable system architectures.
- Partner with engineering leaders, product management, and domain experts to translate strategic objectives into technical direction.
- Drive architectural consistency across teams, products, and technology domains.
- Lead technical design reviews and guide critical architectural decisions.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks before they become operational challenges.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and design patterns to improve system capabilities and developer productivity.
- Mentor engineers and technical leaders in architecture, system design, and engineering best practices.
- Influence technical roadmaps and align investments with long-term platform strategy.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant system architecture and technical leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience architecting large-scale distributed software systems deployed and operated in production.
- Strong expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and performance engineering.
- Strong software development background, including experience with Java and modern software development practices.
- Experience influencing technical direction across multiple teams and organizational boundaries.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and technical leaders.
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with autonomous systems, robotics, industrial automation, distributed control systems, real-time software, cloud-native architectures, distributed platform design, networking, distributed application troubleshooting, or safety-critical and operationally critical environments.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
