Responsibilities

  • Define and guide the architectural vision for complex autonomous software platforms.
  • Establish scalable, resilient, and maintainable system architectures.
  • Partner with engineering leaders, product management, and domain experts to translate strategic objectives into technical direction.
  • Drive architectural consistency across teams, products, and technology domains.
  • Lead technical design reviews and guide critical architectural decisions.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks before they become operational challenges.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and design patterns to improve system capabilities and developer productivity.
  • Mentor engineers and technical leaders in architecture, system design, and engineering best practices.
  • Influence technical roadmaps and align investments with long-term platform strategy.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant system architecture and technical leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting large-scale distributed software systems deployed and operated in production.
  • Strong expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and performance engineering.
  • Strong software development background, including experience with Java and modern software development practices.
  • Experience influencing technical direction across multiple teams and organizational boundaries.
  • Experience mentoring senior engineers and technical leaders.
  • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience with autonomous systems, robotics, industrial automation, distributed control systems, real-time software, cloud-native architectures, distributed platform design, networking, distributed application troubleshooting, or safety-critical and operationally critical environments.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
