Base Salary
$200k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the scope, architecture, development, and iteration of complete product modules from versioned APIs through React UIs.
- Design and evolve agentic AI systems across conversational interfaces, web applications, vendor integrations, and MCP/FastMCP servers.
- Move pricing and business logic into backend services and maintain typed Pydantic pricing ontologies.
- Lead architectural reviews, technical discussions, testing, observability, deployment, and performance monitoring for AI-driven features.
- Investigate production issues involving financial logic and money-handling code through rigorous root-cause analysis.
- Mentor peers, shape engineering culture, contribute to product strategy, and improve the AI-native software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of software engineering experience with ownership of entire product areas at startup or staff-level scope.
- Deep production backend experience with FastAPI, Python, and MongoDB or a comparable stack.
- Ability to independently build clean, data-dense React and TypeScript user interfaces.
- Experience taking ambiguous customer problems through shipped features without a dedicated product manager.
- Experience with B2B SaaS monetization concepts such as pricing models, packaging, quoting, billing, or CPQ.
- Experience building or integrating AI-assisted features and agent-driven workflows, including LLM interfaces and MCP-style endpoints.
- High standards for correctness in financial and money-handling code.
- Familiarity with data residency, SOC 2, or GDPR constraints is preferred.
- Prior experience as a technical founder, co-founder, or early employee shipping a 0-to-1 B2B product to paying customers is preferred.
- US work authorization is required.
Benefits
- Base salary is $200,000 to $250,000 USD annually.
- Fully on-site role in San Francisco, California; candidates must be based in San Francisco or willing to relocate.
