Responsibilities
- Lead and scale the Delivery organization, including Implementation Engineering and Forward Deployed Engineering.
- Remain hands-on with complex customer deployments, including architecture discussions, scoping, troubleshooting, and executive customer conversations.
- Build repeatable frameworks for scoping, implementation, deployment, escalation, and handoff.
- Own the customer path from sale through production in partnership with Sales and Solutions Architects.
- Define and improve implementation success, time-to-value, deployment health, and customer outcome metrics.
- Determine when to address scaling challenges through people, process, product, documentation, tooling, or automation.
- Hire, coach, and develop technical Implementation Engineers and Forward Deployed Engineers.
- Create feedback loops between customer delivery, Product, Engineering, Sales, Solutions Architects, Support, and Partnerships.
Requirements
- Experience building or leading a customer-facing technical delivery, forward deployed engineering, implementation engineering, professional services, or similar organization in a technical software company.
- Strong technical depth and comfort working alongside engineers on complex customer problems.
- Hands-on leadership experience with personal involvement in complex customer implementations.
- Ability to balance customer-specific needs with scalable products and organizational processes.
- Strong people leadership skills, including attracting, developing, and retaining highly technical talent.
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineers and executive business stakeholders.
- Strong judgment in prioritization and resource allocation across multiple customer needs.
- Ability to operate effectively while processes and the organizational playbook are still being developed.
- Preferred experience building a Delivery or Forward Deployed Engineering function from an earlier stage.
- Preferred experience with developer tools, infrastructure, AI/ML, data platforms, robotics, computer vision, or other deeply technical products.
- Preferred experience supporting deployments involving both software and the physical world.
- Preferred experience with enterprise customers and complex, multi-stakeholder deployments.
- Preferred experience improving time-to-value or making services-heavy delivery motions more repeatable and scalable.
- Preferred experience owning the full customer success process.
