Base Salary
$176k - $264k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set technical and product direction for a core Customer Agent area from architecture through production.
- Build and ship code, review architecture and designs, and resolve difficult technical problems involving orchestration, evaluation, guardrails, memory, context, and non-deterministic failure handling.
- Define engineering patterns adopted by other engineers and mentor through design reviews without direct management.
- Partner with product, design, data science, and go-to-market leaders to shape product direction.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and bring appropriate technologies into production.
Requirements
- Experience building, scaling, and supporting production agentic systems with orchestration, evaluations, guardrails, and non-deterministic failure handling.
- Experience operating agents in production, including addressing misuse, abuse, incidents, and reliability challenges as usage grows.
- Prior ownership of technical and product direction for a significant area, including designing and championing shipped systems that other engineers built upon.
- Strong hands-on engineering ability, including coding, architecture review, and debugging production issues.
- Demonstrated ability to create reusable patterns, unblock other engineers’ projects, and influence technical direction.
- Ability to communicate complex technical trade-offs and turn ambiguous problems into actionable plans.
- Preferred: experience with multi-tenant agent platforms at production scale.
- Preferred: experience building 0-to-1 products or working in startup environments.
- Preferred: experience with production evaluation systems, AI observability, or human-in-the-loop workflows for LLM-powered products.
