Base Salary
$90k - $120k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and execute load, stress, spike, endurance, and benchmarking tests for web, mobile, and backend systems.
- Build and maintain reproducible, scalable performance test suites using k6, Gatling, JMeter, Locust, and related frameworks.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve performance bottlenecks across frontend rendering, APIs, services, databases, caching layers, networking, and distributed systems.
- Drive backend and infrastructure improvements focused on latency, throughput, resource utilization, and system efficiency.
- Integrate performance testing and regression detection into CI/CD pipelines.
- Design and build profiling, tracing, and telemetry solutions using observability tools.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to solve performance challenges and provide hands-on technical guidance.
- Lead adoption of performance engineering best practices across multiple teams.
- Design experiments, analyze performance data, and provide measurable, actionable recommendations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience focused on performance optimization, scalability, or observability.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts, including caching, concurrency, queuing, and resource contention.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as k6, Gatling, JMeter, and Locust.
- Familiarity with Core Web Vitals and frontend performance monitoring.
- Experience working with metrics, logging, and tracing systems.
- Strong debugging, profiling, and systems-level problem-solving skills.
- Experience collaborating with frontend and backend engineering teams and supporting high-scale or consumer-facing platforms.
