Responsibilities
- Design and develop Android Framework features using Java, Kotlin, C/C++, and JNI.
- Extend and customize Android system services, including Activity Manager, Power Manager, Window Manager, Audio, Camera, and Connectivity.
- Integrate Android Framework components with HAL, drivers, BSP, middleware, and kernel layers.
- Optimize boot time, memory usage, CPU/GPU utilization, thermal behavior, and battery or power management.
- Debug and resolve complex Android Framework and system-service issues using diagnostic and performance tools.
- Ensure compliance with CTS, GTS, and VTS test suites and certification requirements.
- Collaborate across application, middleware, kernel, and hardware teams on cross-layer solutions.
- Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers in Android architecture and debugging practices.
Requirements
- At least 7.5 years of experience in infotainment and telematics, including Android development.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electronics, or a related stream.
- Strong hands-on experience with Android Framework development using Java, Kotlin, C/C++, and JNI.
- Deep understanding of AOSP architecture and its build system, Android system services, Binder IPC, HIDL/AIDL, HAL, and native libraries.
- Experience debugging Android Framework issues with logcat, systrace, perf, gdb, and adb.
- Experience with system performance optimization involving power, thermal, and resource management.
- Familiarity with CTS, VTS, and GTS compliance and certification processes.
- Exposure to Automotive Android (AAOS), infotainment systems, or embedded Android devices.
- Experience with graphics, multimedia, audio/video, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or camera frameworks.
- Familiarity with Android security and permission models.
- Contributions to AOSP or open-source Android projects are beneficial.
- Experience with hypervisors, virtualization, or multi-OS integration is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
