Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate large-scale cloud infrastructure and distributed backend services.
- Develop systems that process trillions of links, rows, and petabytes of data for search and information intelligence.
- Support indexing, ranking, retrieval, link selection, freshness, and content extraction capabilities.
- Apply statistical analysis to improve retrieval rates, extraction quality, and other search-related metrics.
- Collaborate with product and information intelligence teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and efficient infrastructure.
- Work with cross-functional teams to support Apple products used by billions of users.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience developing and operating large-scale cloud infrastructure.
- Proven experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems and backend services.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP and container orchestration such as Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and their application in large-scale systems.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience with large-scale data processing, information retrieval, web search, or ranking systems.
