Base Salary

$139k - $233k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the architecture and delivery of backend services that broker and orchestrate API integrations across distributed systems.
  • Design and implement reliable REST/gRPC APIs and event-driven flows using webhooks and Pub/Sub, including rate limiting, retries, backoff, and circuit breakers.
  • Implement authentication and authorization for service-to-service and partner integrations, including secrets management and key rotation.
  • Integrate services with enterprise infrastructure, identity, networking, observability tooling, and private network connections.
  • Define and monitor SLIs/SLOs and contribute to logging, tracing, alerting, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and on-call operations.
  • Collaborate with security, legal, privacy, enterprise architecture, data, product, and integration teams.
  • Support partner onboarding through contracts, SDKs, sandbox environments, and testing flows.
  • Participate in design and code reviews and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of backend software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in one or more of Go, Java, or Python.
  • Working understanding of distributed-systems communication patterns, including REST/gRPC, asynchronous messaging via Pub/Sub, and API-first design.
  • Experience building and supporting scalable, highly available production systems.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate across cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to develop technical leadership skills over time.
  • Experience building services for physical devices such as vehicles, phones, or IoT devices is preferred.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
