Responsibilities
- Lead technical design, implementation, and delivery of projects launching diagnostic tests and services.
- Own end-to-end technical solutions and lead solution architecture, interface design, system architecture, and bioinformatics data-flow mapping.
- Collaborate with business, operations, IT, laboratory, geneticist, medical director, and bioinformatics stakeholders to meet business and operational requirements.
- Ensure solutions comply with internal and external IT security, clinical, and regulatory policies and processes.
- Select appropriate technology platforms for each stage of the diagnostic process.
- Oversee end-to-end testing and diagnostic test validation activities.
- Lead technical documentation and plan and execute the handoff to operations for launch and ongoing operation.
- Work with project management to report progress, analyze risks, and escalate issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience, master’s degree with 4+ years of experience, or PhD with 3+ years of experience working with clinical and biological data and related technologies.
- At least 5 years of experience in a regulated industrial life sciences environment.
- At least 4 years of professional software development or technical engineering experience.
- Experience with bioinformatics methods, database development, query, scripting, programming languages, cloud development, DevOps, and data analysis tools.
- Experience with diagnostic processes, sequencing data analysis, bioinformatics and variant data analysis, workflow managers, and quality control.
- Experience designing solutions, system and solution architecture, data-flow models, complex technical projects, cloud solutions, APIs, and SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with clinical diagnostics, regulations, controlled processes, diagnostic test validation, environment management, human genetics, oncology, DNA sequencing laboratory processes, and LIMS systems.
- Experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, R, Docker, Flask, React Native, Bootstrap, R Markdown, Jupyter Notebook, data visualization tools, Git, and CI/CD systems.
- Understanding of application programming interfaces such as JSON-based RESTful APIs and familiarity with AWS is preferred.
- Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
