Responsibilities
- Engineer low-latency, high-reliability sensor and actuator pipelines across Linux, drivers, and middleware.
- Profile and optimize compute, I/O, memory, scheduling, networking, storage, GPU/CPU workloads, and distributed components.
- Extend or modify Linux components, drivers, and scheduling to achieve deterministic behavior under load.
- Develop and optimize real-time video streaming systems, including frame timing and packet scheduling.
- Build profiling, tracing, and debugging tools for timing issues across distributed systems and hardware interfaces.
- Collaborate with researchers, hardware engineers, platform engineers, and operations teams to integrate optimized pipelines into production workflows.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in C++, Rust, or Python with experience building and optimizing production software.
- Experience with Linux systems programming, including syscalls, drivers, kernel parameters, scheduling, and memory/I/O subsystems.
- Background in real-time or near-real-time systems, VR/AR, video pipelines, 3D engines, or streaming systems with strict latency budgets.
- Ability to optimize across kernel scheduling, drivers, networking, GPU/CPU workloads, video frameworks, and distributed components.
- Experience with profiling tools such as perf, tracing, eBPF, GPU profilers, and network analyzers.
- Ability to address determinism, throughput, frame budgets, jitter minimization, and real-time correctness.
- Ability to collaborate with researchers and platform engineers to translate model requirements into real-world system performance.
- Preferred experience with VR/AR platforms, low-latency 3D engines, camera systems, codecs, GPU offload, WebRTC, real-time transport, robotics, autonomous systems, SLAM, kernel engineering, device drivers, high-performance networking, or distributed real-time data systems.
