Responsibilities
- Gather security requirements from customers, regulatory and compliance considerations, risk assessments, industry trends, and product teams.
- Define the security architecture roadmap for Flash products, including firmware, hardware, and secure manufacturing infrastructure.
- Drive threat modeling, reference embedded security architectures, and promote adoption across the business unit.
- Architect interactions among system components and peripherals.
- Contribute to security-feature verification and validation requirements and strategy.
- Lead internal security reviews of hardware and embedded software products and guide external evaluations and compliance activities.
- Collaborate with hardware design, firmware development, product security assurance, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams.
- Promote secure design practices from product conception through productization across multiple projects and product lines.
- Track emerging security standards and best practices and provide technical leadership and mentoring.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field, preferably specializing in embedded security.
- 10+ years of experience in embedded product security.
- Expert understanding of practical modern cryptography and proficiency with security protocols, authentication, attestation, authorization, secure boot, secure communication, digital signatures, certificates, and post-quantum cryptography.
- Strong experience creating and validating threat models.
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring to architects or development teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, creative-thinking, communication, documentation, and technical-quality skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with suppliers, senior management, and team members in written, in-person, and virtual settings.
- Experience driving FIPS and Common Criteria certification is an asset.
- Knowledge of data storage controller architectures is strongly preferred.
