Base Salary
$200k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build Suno’s Android app across creation, discovery, playback, and social experiences
- Create foundational abstractions and libraries for performant, highly interactive media experiences
- Own feature development from scoping and shipping through post-launch iteration
- Collaborate with product and design to shape the app’s user experience and direction
- Optimize performance, responsiveness, rendering, audio latency, and micro-interactions
- Instrument and monitor app health and iterate using real user data
- Set technical direction for the Android platform and define architectural patterns
- Mentor engineers and improve code quality, abstractions, and engineering culture
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience shipping production Android apps
- Advanced expertise in Kotlin and modern Android development frameworks and best practices
- Experience building polished animations and translating design prototypes into production-grade code
- Strong understanding of Android for media-rich applications
- Ability to profile, benchmark, and improve UI rendering, memory, network efficiency, performance, and responsiveness
- Experience scoping ambiguous work, making tradeoffs, and shipping without a fully defined specification
- Collaborative communication with designers, product managers, and backend teams
- Prior experience with ExoPlayer and Media3 is a strong plus
- Experience with audio streaming pipelines or real-time audio on Android is a strong plus
- Experience with social product features, mobile-first APIs, or 0-to-1 consumer products is a strong plus
- Technical leadership or mentorship experience is especially important for Staff candidates
