Base Salary

$139k - $167k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain the TypeScript/React 2D and 3D annotation application.
  • Build high-performance point-cloud and image rendering with three.js/WebGL, including streaming, level-of-detail, prefetching, sensor overlays, and camera-LiDAR projection.
  • Build services for label storage and versioning, task assignment, quality-assurance workflows, authentication, and multi-user isolation.
  • Integrate pre-labeling and pseudo-labeling outputs and instrument acceptance-rate and throughput metrics.
  • Fuse HD map data into annotation and quality-control workflows.
  • Build converters and ingestion paths for multi-LiDAR, multi-camera, and calibration data.
  • Deliver auditable dataset exports for downstream machine-learning training and validation.
  • Use AWS cloud services and Databricks adjacency to host scene data and deploy scalable services.
  • Collaborate with annotation, Autonomy/ML, Scene Selection, Mapping, and Data Engineering teams.
  • Participate in sprint planning, agile ceremonies, demos, code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and reliability gaps across the platform.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React with experience shipping production-quality web applications.
  • Experience with browser-based 3D graphics such as three.js or WebGL, or strong graphics fundamentals and the ability to ramp quickly.
  • Proficiency in Python for production backend services and APIs.
  • Experience working with large binary or sensor datasets, including point clouds, imagery, or video, and optimizing data-heavy interfaces.
  • Strong proficiency with SQL and hands-on PostgreSQL experience.
  • Experience with AWS services for hosting data and deploying services.
  • Proficiency with Git and GitHub for collaborative version-control workflows.
  • Familiarity with JIRA or similar project-management tools.
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with technical, non-technical, and non-engineer users.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Bonus: experience with point-cloud rendering and formats such as Potree, COPC, 3D Tiles, LAS, or LAZ.
  • Bonus: experience building or extending annotation or labeling tools.
  • Bonus: familiarity with Rerun, Foxglove, MCAP, or ROS bags.
  • Bonus: background in machine-learning perception workflows such as detection, tracking, segmentation, auto-labeling, or active learning.
  • Bonus: understanding of multi-view geometry and sensor calibration.
  • Bonus: experience with HD maps or formats such as OpenDRIVE, NDS, or Lanelet2.
  • Bonus: familiarity with PostGIS or spatial queries.
  • Bonus: experience with Databricks or similar large-scale data-processing platforms.
