Responsibilities
- Develop software for embedded Linux-based microcomputer devices.
- Develop embedded GUI interfaces for Socomec products.
- Implement industrial communication protocols including Modbus TCP/RTU, BACnet/IP, and SNMP.
- Handle all stages of the embedded software lifecycle from inception through product delivery.
- Support product testing and development at the device and systems levels.
- Prepare operational documentation, manuals, and online help.
- Provide support to production and service personnel for related products.
Requirements
- A degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with a proven software development track record, or a degree in Firmware/Software Engineering with a thorough understanding of industrial monitoring and control systems.
- At least 7 years of software development experience for real-time industrial automation systems.
- Proficiency in C, C++, Java, and Python.
- Experience with embedded Linux development using the Yocto Project.
- Hands-on experience with Modbus TCP/RTU; familiarity with EtherNet/IP, BACnet/IP, or SNMP is an asset.
- Experience with HTML5 and JavaScript; Vue.js experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with GUI development for industrial touch panels; Qt experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of electrical power-quality monitoring and standards including IEEE 1159, IEEE 1459, and IEC 61000-4-30.
- Knowledge of NIST SP 800-82, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and IEC 62443 is highly desired.
- Ability to manage projects from inception through product delivery and demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, innovation, and energy.
Benefits
- Base compensation is CAD $110,000 to $130,000 per year.
