Responsibilities
- Build ingestion, query, storage-path, enrichment, and monitoring components for metrics, logs, traces, and profiles.
- Contribute to alerting, alert correlation, SLO frameworks, default alert rules, topology services, and cluster-health rollups.
- Develop remediation actuators, orchestration and workflow components, inspection probes, and job schedulers.
- Instrument services with metrics, logs, and traces using OpenTelemetry; build dashboards and write operational runbooks.
- Write unit, integration, and contract tests and participate in chaos and soak testing.
- Participate in on-call as a shadow before taking primary responsibility, with guidance from senior engineers.
Requirements
- 0–2 years of software engineering experience; new graduates with strong projects or internships are welcome.
- Solid programming fundamentals in Go, Python, Java, or Rust, with the ability to write clean, tested, readable code.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, networking fundamentals including TCP and HTTP, and operating-system concepts.
- Understanding of distributed-systems concepts such as idempotency, retries, back-pressure, caching, and eventual consistency.
- Hands-on exposure to monitoring or observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Loki, including basic PromQL queries and service instrumentation.
- Familiarity with Linux, shell environments, system logs, and standard debugging tools.
- Basic Kubernetes knowledge, including Pods, Services, and Deployments, with experience running a project, lab, or internship workload on Kubernetes.
- Basic Git and CI experience, including branching, pull requests, and use of GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or a similar pipeline.
- Habitual use of unit and integration testing and strong written and verbal English communication.
- Preferred experience includes monitoring or observability internships or projects, telemetry pipelines, platform or SRE tooling, GPU or AI infrastructure, AIOps or ML-adjacent tooling, and open-source cloud-native contributions.
