Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support large-scale enterprise data platforms and data integration solutions.
- Develop and maintain ingestion frameworks, orchestration workflows, streaming solutions, ELT/ETL frameworks, and enterprise data pipelines.
- Improve platform reliability, performance, security, observability, monitoring, alerting, lineage, metadata, and operational support.
- Lead automation, infrastructure-as-code, deployment optimization, and CI/CD modernization initiatives.
- Implement security, governance, metadata management, lineage, data quality, disaster recovery, and operational resilience practices.
- Create reusable engineering frameworks, standards, best practices, and platform capabilities.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and guide technical initiatives across development and operations.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, guidance, and knowledge sharing to engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders and influence cross-functional teams.
- Support business needs through a flexible schedule and regular in-office attendance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale enterprise data platforms and integration solutions.
- Experience with cloud platforms, including Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience developing and supporting data orchestration, streaming technologies, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and observability solutions.
- Experience implementing security, governance, metadata management, lineage, and data quality frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise data platform architecture, cloud-native engineering, and data integration patterns.
- Strong proficiency with SQL, Python, BigQuery scripting, or similar technologies.
- Experience with Google BigQuery, DBT Core, OpenMetadata, Cube Cloud, Composer, Datastage, Confluent Kafka, GoAnywhere, or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of security, privacy, governance, disaster recovery, and operational resilience principles.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-influence skills.
- Ability to develop reusable frameworks and engineering standards and mentor engineers.
- Retail or related industry experience is preferred.
- Ability to adhere to company policies and professional standards and meet stated hearing and vision requirements.
